Blogathon 2005

I am pleased to say that I will be doing the Blogathon to raise money for the Oakley Waterman Appeal. This will be a completely unknown cause to most of you, but a very worthy one in my eyes.

What is the Oakley Waterman Appeal?

Oakley is the six-year-old son of ex-Oxford United football player Dave Waterman, and has been diagnosed with terminal cancer after first recovering from the disease as a toddler. His parents have managed to rent a caravan in a beautiful area, on Oakley’s wishes, to spend his remaining time in his favourite surroundings. Their aim is to raise £32,000 to buy the caravan outright, so that families in similar situations in the future can give their child the same pleasure. Oxford United FC have been more than helpful with raising funds, with over £3,000 already donated through the club, and the supporters’ trust, OxVox, have also set up a donation system and raised an extra £1,000. This is a cause I feel very strongly for, and would love to help even a little.

When will it take place?

Between 2pm UK time on Saturday August 6th, and the same time on Sunday August 7th.

Where can I get more information on sponsoring or taking part?

The official site at Blogathon.org has both a Sponsoring FAQ and also one for Participants.

HOW TO SPONSOR ME

You go to my campaign page on the Blogathon site HERE, and make a pledge to donate the amount of money you choose. After the event, should I complete it (and by God I will), you will then recieve instructions on how to make your donation.
